NESSEBAR is one of the oldest towns in Europe, well-known for its exotic monuments the antiquity, its fascinating architecture of the Middle Ages and the National Revival period.
It is situated 25 km to the north of Bourgas. Its name means town of Melsa. Since 510 AD Dorian settlers made it a Greek colony. They called it Mesambria. There was a theatre and a temple of the Greek God Apollo. There are about 40 churches in the Old Town.
